Thanks to Troy “The Workout Dr.”, I have gotten myself back in to running shape. Through his challenges I have not only gotten back into running shape, but have pushed myself further physically in other areas of strength building that I would normally have ignored. He has always been there for my questions and problems. He is HIGHLY recommended.

The workout challenges have really help me to stay motivated. I used the challenges to compete with other people, but in the end I was the winner. My body fat percentage was reduced by 5% at the end of each challenge. The advice for alternative exercises when dealing with injuries has been amazing! Thanks Troy!

I started working out for the first time last winter. I have never felt better in my whole life. Mark Hammond of Workout Doctor has been an exceptional trainer. He has taught me the proper form, technique, and purpose for the exercises. He literally kicks my butt! I look forward to our training sessions and wouldn't trade him for the world!

My journey with Double T started in 2005 at the Abington YMCA. I was the evening and weekend supervisor at the time and while I worked out I wasn’t seeing any great results. Double T was there doing some personal training with high school kids preparing for the college scouts to check them out. Double T allowed me to “join in” on the training but gave me specifics on what he wanted me to do. It was tough and Double T showed no mercy but I soon saw the results of all the hard work. My blood pressure went down, my clothes started feeling and looking better and I felt better.

After about a year I slacked off. I started working several jobs and the working out fell to the side. I gained weight, it was harder to keep my blood pressure under control and I was about to turn 50 years old soon. I was determined to get under the 200 lb mark by my 50th birthday. So after years of not having talked to Double T, I found him on Facebook and soon the torture started anew! It was grueling and I cursed him plenty of times but I am very grateful to have someone push me to do things I thought I could not. Troy and I worked out together once a week but at least 3 to 4 other days I would work out on my own..but always with the voice of Double T in my head, “stop your whining man…Getter done man…” If you’ve ever trained with Troy, then you know what I mean. It was then that I named Troy “Double T” (Terrible Troy). But it was all out of love and gratitude. I am happy to say that I lost 20 lbs and weighed 175 lbs on my 50th birthday. And while it is not my goal weight I am headed in the right direction and cannot wait until I can restart my personal training again with Double T!

I am a runner, but as the year advanced my joints went the other way. I needed to find alternative ways to stay active and fit. I needed a driver, a motivator, inspiration. A running friend from the Philadelphia area referred me to a wonderful club called "Running for the Health of It". There I have met great friends and have had a blast being on a Team competing for "status" against fitness challenges. Troy's clever choice of challenges moved my fitness into areas I did not imagine - points for achieving certain levels of repetitions, miles are miles challenge, programs and exercises I had not tried! And the friendships and support received by the hundreds of great members was both amazing and motivating! Thank you Troy, The Workout Doctor, for positively impacting and improving my fitness and well-being!

I have been a avid runner, biker and swimmer for 20 years. I've also been a daily lifter at gyms for 40 years. Two years ago I joined Troy Leatherbury's Running for the Health of It and it has propelled my workouts. The challenges break the boredom and make you push yourself to another limit. I've enjoyed it and improved my workouts while getting many friends to join in with us.

When I first joined ‘Running for the Health of It’, I had been a runner all my life, but had just started competing in the last year or two. Joining the group has given me a support system of other runners who are out there in the cold and the heat, through injuries and illnesses – all for the love of running. They are undaunted by excessive miles and seem to thrive on those merciless 26+ mile runs. So, of course, I had to step it up. I started with the 3-5 mile daily runs and am now running about 45 miles a week. I’m running my second ½ marathon this weekend, and strangely enough, even looking forward to it. My confidence in my strength and the ability of my body to get through each new challenge is all due to the runners in Troy’s group and the periodic challenges he posts to get us thinking and exercising outside the running box.

A couple years ago I was introduced to Troy's Running for the Health of it Facebook page through another friend of mine. While predominantly for runners (which I am not) I was welcomed no differently and have had such a great experience! He has created a community of people of all fitness levels from all over the country to come together for motivation, advice, and some friendly competitions to keep working out fun for us all. I have no doubts that in his new venture The Workout Doctor Personal Training Studio that same knowledgeable, supportive and challenging touch will make fitness goals a reality for those lucky enough to train with him!

Troy is such a great person. He creates great workouts and brought together a group of people from all over the U.S. to participate in his challenges. His website inspires so many people to complete the challenges and at the same time cheer everyone on. He is so positive and motivates the group with his words and his can do attitude. He celebrates even the smallest of accomplishments which enables you to keep on and do more! I have never ran so much in my life as I did this year and I loved it.
